What is your favourite animal at Longleat?
I have been presenting Animal Park from Longleat for seven years now, and both animals and keepers have become firm friends. In the great cycle of life animals come and pass away each year bringing joy and tears in equal measure. Sadly Samba the gorilla died this year as did Chandi the Tiger. It is difficult to pinpoint a single favourite animal, but the Camels make me laugh with their droopy quizzical lips. The Tapirs from South America are also a favourite. I have spent time with them in the wild and they just love a scratch behind their ears. I still miss the elephants, they must be one of the most remarkable creatures on the planet and I was privileged to work so closely with such magnificent intelligent creatures.
