Ben Fogle and James Cracknell to the South Pole

Ben Fogle and double Olympic rowing gold medallist, James Cracknell have announced their plans to enter the 2008 Race to the South Pole. The pair will endure temperatures of minus 75 as they cover nearly 400 miles of Antarctic white desert on foot. The race will be the first ever undertaken to the South Pole and will push the teams to their limits as they race to the bottom of the world. The pair are currently searching for a third team member to join them on their record attempt to the South Pole.
Wild on The West Coast begins July 23rd BBC2 6-7pm

Following the success of Wild in Africa, Ben and Kate travelled to the Californian coast to report on the marine mammals and sealife and the scientists and volunteers who work alongside. Highlights include Great White sharks in the Farallon Islands, 20 miles West of San Fransisco and the work of MBARI, the underwater research vessel studying the creatures of the deep in the Mariana Trench. 10 x 1 hours BBC2.
Ben becomes President of Council for National Parks

Ben has become the President of the Council for National Parks taking over from Brian Blessed. Ben is ‘thrilled’ with his new role and ‘hopes to continue Brian’s good work’.
Ben Designs Royal Parks Deckchair

Ben has been invited by the royal parks to join the likes of Damian Hurst in designing a summer deckchair for London’s parks.
