The Big V Sail is the most exciting addition to this year’s sailing calendar! Setting sail for Cork in the first ever ‘Big V’ yacht race, sponsored by Virgin Money, Ben will be setting sail from Gunwharf Quays on Monday 10 July 2006 and hoping to set the first World Sailing Record (WSSRC) for the fasted boat from Portsmouth to Cork, whilst raising money for Everyman Male testicular and prostrate Cancer campaign at the same time. Exchanging the Atlantic Ocean for the Irish Sea, he’s also exchanging hairy friend James Cracknell for his fiancee Marina.! You’ll be able to follow Ben’s, Dee Caffari’s Team and other Big V Sail competitors, or join them on the race or come to Gunwharf Quays Portsmouth as Ben officially starts the race and watch the boats depart as they set off for Ireland where parties and prizes await a good old Irish craic await!
